second post: progressing nicely

41 days until I leave for Japan!  I now have my acceptance letter from Rikkyo and have booked my flights and travel insurance, yay!  I leave on April 3 and get in the morning of April 4, all ready for orientation on the 5th.

Today I went to uni to finish up paperwork.  There's this form you need to take to the faculty and to the exchange office after you get it signed by the Head of School - wth I didn't even know we had a Head of School.  Anyway, I had to leave that with the Social Science ladies the other day and take it to the Humanities faculty office.  I don't really understand the purpose of this form, but it's handed in now, and all my subjects fixed up and transferred for exchange.  I also have numerous forms to fill in and send off to take medication into Japan, and I have to scan some stuff and send to Tomoko-san at Rikkyo, but mostly I am done with paperwork for today.

I also need to book flights to take my dog to my mum's house while I'm away.  That is too sad so I don't want to think about it.  I need to organise a webcam for my mum so I can skype with my dog.

I also now have a CUTE FLAT!!  The flat is in this building here, very affordable and close to Shimura station on the Mita subway line.  This is awesome because it's clearly named after Shimura Ken, who is awesome.

While at uni today I also got a haircut.  I thought the hairdresser at uni would be dodgy but it actually looks very good.  I would post a photo of it but my iphone is in the other room.

So, now all I really need to do is wait for my certificate of eligibility and then go get my visa.  日本、待ってよ!

  2. You should take a coffee machine with you, so you always have coffee for those late nights at your typewriter being a novelist! I'm not sure of the coffee situation in Japan but I do know that there won't be an alphabet city. phew. Geo xx

    1. You can buy coffee in a can from a vending machine. It's not too bad and doesn't talk shit at you.
